Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Job Copilot (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account registration and security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your profile updated.
3. Service description
The Service provides career planning guidance, role insights, and related resources. The Service is for informational purposes only and does not guarantee employment outcomes, interviews, or job offers.
4. Acceptable use
- Provide accurate profile details to receive meaningful plans.
- Do not fabricate, misrepresent, or falsify experience, credentials, or achievements.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or bypass security controls.
- Do not use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others.
5. User content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, use, reproduce, modify, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service. You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit the content.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by The Job Copilot or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works except as expressly permitted by these Terms.
7. Paid plans, billing, and refunds
If you subscribe to a paid plan, you agree to pay all fees and applicable taxes. Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable unless required by law or stated otherwise at the time of purchase. We may change pricing or plan features with reasonable notice.
8. Third-party services
The Service may include links to or integrations with third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is subject to their terms and policies.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information. By using the Service, you agree to our Privacy Policy available at /privacy.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Job Copilot and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Job Copilot and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time.
14. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, contact us with a notice that includes your contact details, a description of the copyrighted work, the URL of the allegedly infringing content, and a statement of good-faith belief. We will review and respond in accordance with applicable law.
15. Governing law and arbitration
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by arbitration in New Zealand by a single arbitrator in English. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding, and judgment may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
